St. Theresa of Avila wrote of interior castles and the mystical journey away from the created world. I’m sure that’s a very worth while trip to take, but I like rain and daffodils and the deep voice of Leopold Singer. I prefer the thrill of Mr. Grasmere’s hand on my waist to the promise of a seat in the outer cloud rings of heaven. I would rather listen to the lovely voices of Amalthea than hypothesize what might be the sound of my so-far undiscovered inner music.
